Why IT stuff?

For some reason Footsfitter and computers have become severely entwined!!

For a long while I have become more & more interested in fiddling with the hardware as well as the software, this has the flip side in that you instantly become everybody's pet expert when their machine starts playing up.

Since the advent of Windows XP things have become both easier & complicated. XP allows us to do more to our systems with out needing to know the reams of geeky code & gobbledygook with earlier operating systems.

The downside of all this is that things like wireless networking, broadband and other things that were the domain of the company IT department now crop up at home level, this tends to be bad news to long suffering spouses!

Because I keep getting asked the basic questions many times over, it seems sensible to have a permanent spot just to point people to so the links below will take you to areas covering their respective subject!

Be careful when altering settings on a PC remember if you get out of your depth or think "Should I do this?".......use the cancel option to get out of what you are doing with out saving any changes that you were about to make.

Cancel exits you out of the window you are looking at with out altering any changes that you may of selected but not yet saved.
